Introducing Social Enterprise
ACCA unveils an e-learning presentation by the Social Enterprise Coalition.
20 Mar 2008
ACCA is delighted to unveil a presentation by Jonathan Bland, chief executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition, the UK national body for social enterprise.
In his presentation, Mr Bland explains what social enterprises are, what they offer and why they are important in today's society. In providing this resource ACCA hopes to enable you to be better prepared next time you are approached by a social enterprise in terms of what they do and how they operate, including the legal structures they adopt.
The presentation refers to social enterprise as a global movement, with UK examples being accompanied by instances of social enterprise elsewhere in the world, for example in relation to coffee, tea and cocoa trading in Africa and banking in Bangladesh .
If you are following the unit route, and provided this is new learning relevant to your role, this presentation may contribute towards your CPD requirement.
Throughout 2008, ACCA will be releasing more e-learning resources, so keep a watchful eye on the website for further details. In the meantime, to find out more about additional e-learning resources currently available visit the ‘See also' section on this page.
