Two East Midlands accountancy students receive top marks from global professional body
It has just been announced that two Nottingham students who work for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP have achieved the highest worldwide scores in the June 2008 exam sitting of the ACCA Qualification.
Helen Hinton has achieved Gold and the highest score for Paper 6 which was taken by 3,334 students globally. Samantha Liley, achieved Silver.
Helen, who is senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, says: “I chose the ACCA Qualification as it is a global qualification and I felt that this was the best route for me professionally. I am shocked I have done so well. It is amazing.”
Samantha, who is also a senior associate at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, says: “It was a big surprise to have done so well. It is really great and also a big coincidence as Helen and I are good friends and studied together.”
Wyn Mears, Director, ACCA UK says: “It is to both Helen and Samantha’s credit that they have done so well in these exams. The papers within the ACCA Qualification are very challenging and to have come top in such a competitive environment is exceptional.
