World Congress of Accountants
ACCA was Diamond Sponsor of the 2006 World Congress of Accountants held in Istanbul in November 2006. The conference brought together professional accountants, international regulators, standard setters, government officials, corporate leaders, international and regional leaders of the accountancy profession.
ACCA has 80,000 members and students in the surrounding region, many of whom were represented at the World Congress, which is staged every four years (the 2002 WCOA was held in Hong Kong – ACCA was a sponsor). ACCA’s Diamond sponsorship served to underline its commitment to supporting the global accounting profession, and to helping to further the interests of its members.
By providing keynote speakers and hosting a number of events and receptions at the World Congress, ACCA enhanced its reputation with several thousand key players in the accountancy world.
