Transition from STR to PER
If you are a student or affiliate who registered before 01 January 2007 you will be aware of the practical experience component of the old Professional Scheme qualification which required you to match competences in a student training record (STR).
Whereas the conversion to the new exam syllabus happened automatically, you will need to transfer any STR competences you have recorded to the practical experience requirements (PER) format.
The deadline for transition has been extended until 31 December 2008.
Guidance has been provided to ensure that you fully understand what you are required to do to either bank your STR competences or transfer over to PER.
Bank or transfer?
The progress you have made with the old STR will determine which guidance notes you should follow.
- Have you completed and recorded all the practical experience requirements under the STR but will not have met all the exam requirements for membership by 31 December 2008? If yes, go to section A
- Have you started recording your practical experience requirements using the STR, but will not have completed it by 31 December 2008? If yes, go to section B
